Mirella Daniell was born in 1959 to an Italian mother and an English father and holds both nationalities.
She studied painting for a B.A. in 1984 from the University of Houston, U.S.A.
From 1985-89 she lived in Greece, where she also painted Icons and was influenced by their historical tradition. Over the years she has continuously attended Life Drawing classes in order to draw from the model, which she considers to be an essential learning process.
In 1998-99 she furthered her study of painting and anatomy at the Accademia delle Belle Arti in Rome.
  Since 2000 she has been living in Ethiopia and working from live models. Her last exhibitions focusing on Ethiopian portraits were held in London in June 2003 and in Addis Abeba in November 2003. She is presently collaborating with the gallery Batik Art in Barcelona (Spain) where one solo and several collective exhibitions are planned for 2004 and 2005.
